Artist: Audrey Kawasaki

This first time I heard of Audrey Kawasaki was in my third year of high school. By then, she had already become famous for her paintings of innocent yet erotic-looking girls. She received her education at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn for Fine Arts Painting. Her style seems a bit like Art Nouveau and animation (well, it actually is because that's what it says on her website). Though the style may look familiar, her concept and paintings is purely unique. They may seem a bit wimsical, dreamy, and even lustful. Nevertheless, many people enjoy Kawasaki and her pieces and her prints usually sell out very quickly. Kawasaki has also been featured in the July issue of Juxtapoz Magazine, which you can check out here. I'll probably cover that publication in another entry some other day. But if you get the chance, stop by a bookstore and pick up issue! I'm not sure if Kawasaki has any current exhibitions or shows going on, if you know - leave a comment!

Some facts gathered from Kawasaki's site. Check out it out here.
