The Handheld Games Museum

While surfing around the internet looking for images of the famous Atari, a novelty game console from the early 70s, I was lucky to come across a website that should be praised by gaming nerds and graphic design geeks of all kinds. This website is called the Handheld Games Museum and it has an amazing collection of devices.
If you're a website designer, you can already see that this is not a site designed by one who has an aesthetic eye. Nevertheless, what is hidden behind this terribly design website, is a treasure chest of fantastic reference pictures to the early 70s-80s electronics packaging design. My favorite thing about this site is that it has a section that is completely devoted to publications related to handheld electronics.

This section features any books or magazines that I find that have anything to do with handheld games. Included are vintage and recent/current publications. Industry/Trade Show publications are also included (if they deal only with a specific manufacturer they will also be listed on the corresponding page of their handheld games). Some of them only show the cover, others may have some or all of the handheld related pages.
If a designer ever needed inspiration for color combination or wanted to design something with a 70s-80s feel, the handheld games museum is the perfect solution. Take a look!
